Indian Community in Seattle

Temples, Travel Agents, Events & More

Seattle is home to a thriving Indian community.

There are about 55,000 Indian-Americans in greater Seattle and their numbers continue to expand.

Indians are the third largest Asian community in Seattle (only the Chinese and Filipinos are ahead of desis).

Gujaratis, Punjabis, Bengalis, Telugus, Tamils and desis from every corner of India have dropped anchor in Seattle.

Thousands of Indians work as software programmers, server administrators, testers, database administrators and other positions at local IT giants Microsoft and Amazon.

With passage of time and growth of Seattle's Indian population, not surprisingly a large support system has developed to cater to the business, food, grocery, spiritual and other needs of local desis.

There are several Hindu temples and Sikh Gurdwaras in nearby cities of Bellevue, Bothell, Renton, Kent and Redmond.

South Indian and North Indian restaurants have multiplied in Seattle and surrounding areas in recent years.

Real estate agencies, immigration attorneys, accountants and tax advisors have established offices in Seattle to cater to the burgeoning Indian community.

Bollywood Movies

Responding to the Bollywood crazy Indians, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and other regional language films are screened at local movie theatres like Regal Meridian 16 in Seattle, Cinemark Lincoln Square Cinemas in Bellevue and Totel Lake Cinemas in Kirkland every week.

Featuring Bollywood movie showtimes, immigration attorneys, Indian restaurants, attorneys, travel agents, Hindu temples, Gurdwaras and more, is a valuable resource for the Seattle Indian community.
